SSSTS is the CITB Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme: a two-day course that gives construction supervisors and team leaders an understanding of their health and safety responsibilities. It is part of the CITB Site Safety Plus scheme and the certificate is valid for five years.
SSSTS is the site safety course for the people who supervise construction work.
By the end of the course, every delegate will be able to do the following.
Outline the legal health and safety duties that come with a supervisory role.
Describe the construction health and safety law relevant to the supervisor.
Explain the supervisor's responsibility for health, safety and welfare on site.
Outline current good practice and the standards expected of a site supervisor.
Use risk assessments and method statements to control site activities.
Supervise and monitor site activities and act on what monitoring shows.
Brief a team and communicate safety, including through toolbox talks.
Work with the site manager to keep the site safe and standards consistent.
Two days building the knowledge and confidence the supervisory role needs.
A CITB assessment, with a certificate recognised across UK construction.
Delivered by KeyOstas in-company or as a scheduled course, in the classroom or live online.
Delegates are assessed against the CITB standard during and at the end of the course.
Successful delegates receive a CITB Site Safety Plus certificate, valid for five years.
