About KeyOstas

Who we are

KeyOstas is a UK-accredited health and safety training and consultancy provider with roots going back to 1984. Originally founded as OSTAS, we acquired The Key Consultancy in 2011 to become KeyOstas Ltd — bringing two complementary teams together under one independent UK business (Companies House 06294367).

We are a NEBOSH Gold Learning Partner — provider 009, one of the lowest partner numbers in the UK, signalling a long-standing relationship with NEBOSH. We are also approved by IOSH, CITB, ITSSAR, the Safety Pass Alliance and ISEP, and independently certified to ISO 45001 (occupational H&S), ISO 14001 (environmental) and ISO 9001 (quality management).

From our headquarters in Southam, Warwickshire, a team of 20+ core employed consultants and a wider specialist associate network deliver public courses online and on-site, in-company training nationally and internationally, and end-to-end consultancy — from one-off risk assessments and Fire Risk Assessments to our Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum H&S management packages.

How we work

Real practitioners. Audited systems. Plain English.

We don't sell motivational slogans. We deliver the qualifications, audits and on-site support that keep your people safe and your business compliant — and that pass NEBOSH, IOSH and HSE scrutiny when it counts.

Practitioners, not career trainers

Every lead trainer holds the NEBOSH Diploma, full CMIOSH status and at least a decade of operational experience — on construction sites, factory floors and oil platforms. When they teach risk assessment, it's because they've done it for real.

Audited quality, not promises

We hold ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 — independently audited every year. Every course is documented, version-controlled and reviewed against learner outcomes. NEBOSH Gold requires pass rates and satisfaction above national averages.

Plain English, no jargon-creep

Our courses pass because we explain regulations the way they actually work in your workplace, not the way the legal text reads. No mumbling through generic PowerPoints.

UK independent

We are not part of a plc or owned by an investment group. KeyOstas Ltd is a privately held UK SME — which means we answer to clients, not to shareholders.

Frequently asked

Frequently asked questions

The questions clients and learners ask us most often, answered straight.

How long has KeyOstas been operating?

Since 1984. We started life as OSTAS providing health and safety services to UK industry. In 2011 we acquired The Key Consultancy and rebranded as KeyOstas Ltd. We are an independent UK SME (Companies House No. 06294367) headquartered in Southam, Warwickshire.

What does 'NEBOSH Gold Learning Partner' mean?

NEBOSH operates a three-tier scheme — Bronze, Silver, Gold. Gold is the top tier and reflects long-standing partnership, audited delivery quality, and pass rates above the national average. We are provider 009, one of the lowest partner numbers in the UK.

Where is KeyOstas based and how far do you travel?

Our HQ is at Holywell Business Park in Southam, Warwickshire. We deliver public courses online and at our Southam centre, and in-company training anywhere in mainland UK and internationally on request.

Are KeyOstas trainers qualified practitioners?

Yes. Every lead trainer holds the NEBOSH Diploma, full CMIOSH status, and at least a decade of operational experience in industry — construction, manufacturing, oil and gas, energy or the public sector. We don't hire career trainers who have never worked in the field.

What sectors do you typically work in?

Construction, manufacturing, automotive (Aston Martin, BMW/Rolls-Royce), energy and utilities (Uniper, EON, Magnox), food and drink (Heineken, Molson Coors), logistics (Ocado), large-tier infrastructure (Balfour Beatty, Kier, Morgan Sindall), and across the public sector. Sectors with high regulatory exposure are where we add the most value.

Do you offer in-company training?

Yes — most of our delivery is in-company. We bring NEBOSH, IOSH, CITB, environmental and plant operator courses to your site (UK or international), evenings and weekends if shift patterns require it.

Are you ISO certified?

Yes — independently certified to ISO 45001 (occupational health and safety management), ISO 14001 (environmental management) and ISO 9001 (quality management). All three are audited every year. Certificates available on request.

What's the difference between training and consultancy at KeyOstas?

Training covers the qualifications and short courses your people need — NEBOSH, IOSH, CITB, plant operator and more. Consultancy covers the systems behind those people — risk assessments, fire risk assessments, ISO 45001 implementation, accident investigation, and retained Bronze/Silver/Gold/Platinum H&S management packages. Most clients use us for both.

How do I get a quote or book?

Browse our NEBOSH, IOSH and in-company course pages, or contact us directly on +44 (0) 3300 569534. We aim to respond same-day with a straight answer on dates, price and delivery options.

Ready to talk?

Looking for a long-term H&S partner?

Most of our consultancy clients started with a single course — and came back because we did what we said we would, on time and on price. A 15-minute conversation about what you actually need is usually enough to know if we are a good fit. No scripted sales call, no upsells.
