The SPA Food & Drink passport is the Safety Pass Alliance sector course for food and drink manufacturing. Taken alongside the one-day SPA Core Day, it makes up a full safety passport covering food protection, environmental protection and health and safety on food and drink sites. The passport is valid for three years.
Food and drink sites carry a distinctive mix of risks — hygiene and contamination, machinery, slips, hygiene chemicals and environmental controls. The Food & Drink passport gives workers and contractors a sector-specific safety baseline that food and drink manufacturers recognise and often require for site access. Each module is followed by a short assessment paper covering the Core Day and the food & drink sector content.
The course is interactive — trainer-led sessions, discussion and real food and drink site examples.
A full SPA sector passport is made up of two parts — the Core Day and the sector day.
