Quick answer

What is mobile tower scaffold training?

Mobile tower scaffold training teaches delegates to erect, move, alter, dismantle and inspect a mobile access tower safely, following the manufacturer's instructions and a recognised safe build method. KeyOstas delivers it as a half-day in-company course with a hands-on practical.

Trains delegates to build, move, alter and dismantle a tower safely
Covers tower inspection, defect reporting and the SCAFFTAG system
Includes a hands-on practical build in teams
Certificate of attendance for every delegate
A mobile access tower is quick to put up, which is exactly why it is so often put up wrongly. A tower that is incomplete, out of plumb or missing guardrails is a serious fall risk. This course trains the people who use towers to build them properly: it covers the law, the manufacturer's instructions, the recognised safe build methods, and the inspection a tower needs before use. The session includes a hands-on practical so delegates build, move, alter and dismantle a tower in teams.

Is it right for you

Is this course right for your team?

It is for the people who put up and use mobile access towers.

Right for you if…

Your staff erect, move or dismantle mobile access towers
Your team uses towers for maintenance, installation or access work
You need people who can inspect a tower before it is used
You want towers built to the manufacturer's instructions and a safe method
You want a hands-on practical, not just classroom theory

A different course fits better if…

Your access work uses ladders only: see Ladder Inspection or Working at Height
You need traditional tube-and-fitting scaffolding training
You want a regulated, accredited qualification: this is a certificate of attendance

FAQ

Mobile tower scaffold training: frequently asked questions

Who should attend mobile tower scaffold training?
Anyone who erects, moves, alters, dismantles or inspects mobile access towers as part of their work.
How long is the course?
Half a day, delivered in-company at your premises, and it includes a hands-on practical build.
Is tower training a legal requirement?
The Work at Height Regulations 2005 require that work at height is properly planned and carried out by competent people. A tower must be built and used by people trained to do so, and this course provides that training.
Does the course include a practical?
Yes. Delegates build, move, alter and dismantle a mobile tower in teams as part of the course.
What is the 3T method?
3T stands for through the trap. It is a recognised safe method of building a tower in which the person fits the next level of guardrails from a protected position, so they are never on an unguarded platform.
Does the course cover tower inspection?
Yes. It covers inspecting a tower before use, defect reporting and validating the tower with the SCAFFTAG system.
Is this a PASMA course?
No. This is a KeyOstas in-company course with a KeyOstas certificate of attendance. It trains delegates to build and inspect towers safely to the manufacturer's instructions and the recognised safe methods.
Is this an accredited qualification?
It is a KeyOstas course with a certificate of attendance: practical training rather than a regulated qualification.
