The SSSTS Refresher is the CITB one-day course that renews a Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme certificate. It brings construction supervisors up to date with current health and safety law and good practice, and extends the CITB Site Safety Plus certificate for a further five years. It must be completed before the existing certificate expires.
The refresher is for supervisors who already hold an SSSTS certificate.
By the end of the course, every delegate will be able to do the following.
Outline current construction health and safety law and any recent changes.
Restate the legal duties that come with a supervisory role.
Review the approach to risk assessments and method statements.
Outline current good practice for supervising a construction site.
Supervise and monitor site activities and act on what monitoring shows.
Brief a team and communicate safety effectively.
Respond to changes in regulation, guidance and site conditions.
Meet the CITB assessment and renew the Site Safety Plus certificate.
One day, 7.5 hours, with continual assessment through the day.
Continual CITB assessment, with a certificate recognised across UK construction.

Delegates are continually assessed against the CITB standard through the day.
Successful delegates renew the CITB Site Safety Plus certificate for a further five years.
