Quick answer

What is mental health and wellbeing awareness training?

Mental health and wellbeing awareness training helps staff understand mental health, recognise the things that affect it, and feel more confident supporting their own and their colleagues' wellbeing at work. KeyOstas delivers it as a half-day in-company course suitable for everyone, with no prior knowledge needed.

Explains what mental health is, and the stigma that can surround it
Covers common causes, influences and the effects on the body
Looks at work-related stress and changes that improve workplace wellbeing
Certificate of attendance for every delegate
Mental health affects every workplace, and a workforce that understands it is better placed to look after itself. This half-day course is suitable for anyone who wants to improve their knowledge of mental health and feel more confident supporting wellbeing at work. It starts with what mental health actually is, the relevant statistics, and the stigma that can stop people speaking up. It looks at the different types of mental health conditions, the influences that affect mental health, and the effects it can have on the body. Work-related stress is covered as a recognised workplace risk, alongside the changes an organisation can make to improve the mental health of its workforce. The course also covers communication styles and where to find help and additional resources. It is an awareness course: it builds understanding and confidence, and it is not a Mental Health First Aid qualification.
