Quick answer

What is health & safety awareness training?

Health & safety awareness training gives employees a working grounding in workplace safety: what hazards and risks are, how risks are controlled, their own responsibilities, and how to report problems. KeyOstas delivers it as a one-day in-company course for any member of staff.

A solid grounding in workplace health and safety for any employee
Covers hazards, risk, risk control and individual responsibilities
Includes reporting accidents, incidents and near misses
Certificate of attendance for every delegate
Every employer has a duty to give staff the information, instruction and training they need to work safely, and every employee has a part to play in keeping the workplace safe. This course meets that need across your workforce. It explains why working safely matters, in moral, legal and practical terms, defines hazard, risk and risk control in plain language, and shows each delegate where they fit into the organisation's health and safety system, from spotting hazards to reporting near misses.

How long is the course?
One day, delivered in-company at your premises.
Is health & safety training a legal requirement?
Employers have a legal duty to provide employees with the information, instruction and training they need to work safely. This course is a straightforward way to meet that duty across a workforce.

Can the course use our own procedures?
Yes. We can build your own hazards, procedures and accident-reporting routes into the day so the training reflects your workplace.
How often should it be refreshed?
There is no fixed legal interval, but it is good practice to refresh awareness training periodically and whenever the workplace or its risks change.
Do delegates get a certificate?
Yes. Every delegate receives a KeyOstas certificate of attendance on completion.
