Powered pallet truck training prepares operators to work a powered pallet truck safely and competently. The powered pallet truck (PPT) moves palletised loads at floor level, operated walk-behind or ride-on. It is delivered in-company to HSE’s L117 standard, with an ITSSAR-accredited or KeyOstas in-house certificate on successful assessment.
Under the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) and HSE’s L117 Approved Code of Practice, employers must make sure lift-truck operators are adequately trained. Powered pallet trucks are used for ground-level load movement in warehouses, shops and goods-in areas. The powered pallet truck (PPT) moves palletised loads at floor level under electric power — walk-behind for short moves, ride-on for longer ones. It does not stack, but it shifts pallets faster and with far less effort than a hand pallet truck.
That makes it the everyday workhorse of goods-in, dispatch and shop-floor replenishment. Because PPTs work in busy, pedestrian-dense areas at floor level, pedestrian awareness, controlled speed and safe manoeuvring are the heart of the course.
