Quick answer

What is internal auditor training?

Internal auditor training equips delegates to plan, carry out and report internal audits of an organisation's management systems. KeyOstas delivers it as a two-day in-company course covering the full audit process, from planning to corrective-action follow-up, and it applies to quality, environmental and health & safety systems.

Covers the complete internal audit process, ISO-aligned
Applies to quality, environmental and health & safety systems
Includes a hands-on internal audit practical
Certificate of attendance for every delegate
Internal auditing is how an organisation checks that its own management system is working: that procedures are followed, that legal duties are met, and that the system keeps improving. This course gives new and developing auditors the knowledge and the initial skills to do that well. It covers what audits are and why they matter, the standards they are measured against (including those from the International Organization for Standardization), and the practical process of planning, conducting, reporting and following up an audit.

Assessment

How the course is assessed and certificated

Practical and applied, with a hands-on audit exercise.

Format

Instructor-led, in-company over 2 days

A KeyOstas tutor delivers both days at your premises, around your working pattern.

Assessment

Exercises and an audit practical

Delegates complete desk exercises and a trial internal audit rather than sitting a written exam.

Certificate

Certificate of attendance

Every delegate receives a KeyOstas certificate of attendance on completion.

Because the course is delivered in-company, the audit practical can use your own procedures and a real location, which makes the exercise far more valuable than a desk-only scenario.

FAQ

Internal auditor training: frequently asked questions

How long is the course?
Two days, delivered in-company at your premises.
Which management systems does it apply to?
The course applies to internal audits of business management systems generally, including quality, environmental and occupational health and safety systems.
Is it an ISO 45001 course?
It is broader than one standard. It teaches the internal audit process and reviews the standards audits are measured against, including ISO standards, so it suits auditors working with quality, environmental or health and safety systems.

New and developing internal auditors, and anyone who will carry out internal audits within their organisation.
Is there a practical exercise?
Yes. The course includes an internal audit practical. Delivered in-company, that exercise can use your own procedures and a real location.
Is this a lead auditor qualification?
No. It provides the information and initial skills to carry out internal audits. It is not a certificated lead auditor qualification from a certification body.
Is this an accredited qualification?
It is a KeyOstas course with a certificate of attendance: practical training rather than a regulated qualification.
