A two-day, FAIB-accredited course that renews a First Aid at Work certificate, refreshing and re-assessing the skills of an existing workplace first aider. Delivered in-company.
First Aid at Work Requalification is a two-day course that renews a First Aid at Work certificate. It refreshes and re-assesses the skills of an existing workplace first aider. KeyOstas delivers it in-company, accredited by the First Aid Industry Body (FAIB), and it issues a new certificate valid for three years.
It is for existing first aiders renewing a current First Aid at Work certificate.
By the end of the two days, every delegate will be able to do the following.
Assess an emergency, communicate and delegate, and inform the emergency services.
Carry out resuscitation and CPR, and manage the unconscious casualty.
Treat and control bleeding, and treat shock.
Treat burns and scalds, and bone, muscle, joint and minor injuries.
Recognise and respond to heart conditions, stroke, diabetes and other conditions.
Apply cross-infection control and simple first aid record keeping.
Carry out the duties of a first aider safely, with no risk to themselves or others.
Meet the standard in a practical and written re-assessment.
Two days refreshing and re-assessing the full first aider skills.
Practical and applied, with a formal re-assessment.
A KeyOstas tutor delivers both days at your premises, over at least twelve hours.
Assessment is by practical questioning and demonstration and a multiple-choice question paper.
Delegates receive a new First Aid at Work certificate, accredited through FAIB and valid for three years.
KeyOstas runs three FAIB-accredited first aid courses. Your first-aid needs assessment tells you which your workplace needs.
